An eye capturing Amazon rating that invites you to click: 3 secrets, 2 links, 1 quote

3 secrets, 2 links & 1 quote

Headed to Steamboat Springs this weekend for some skiing….any recs?

3 Secrets

  1. An eye capturing Amazon rating:

Well this was a happy accident. Look at this picture of the Amazon ratings section of a book listing and tell me where your eye goes first:

Did it go to the picture? The picture of the damaged book right above? Ah uh, me too!

At first glance, one would think, “This must be a review about the quality of the book being awful and un-buyable. It almost literally invites the viewer to click on it through pure intrigue:

Then, when you click on it, the truth is revealed.

Turns out what initially seems like bad news is actually a glowing review!

    It made me think…..

Could this actually be reverse engineered so as to have fans and followers leave interesting and positively deceitful Amazon ratings to draw in the drama-loving eye and then flash them with an overload of positivity?

And that’s the question I leave you with today. (And thank you Carolyn for the review)

  2. Change a daily habit in your reader: How do you turn a reader into a marketing powerhouse? How do you achieve the coveted word of mouth virality? Can it be something you plan? Hal Elrod claims to have done this with Miracle Morning. He says you should incorporate the change of a daily habit in your reader. If your book gets a reader to do something differently every day, they will be much more likely to talk about it. For example: Meditating for 15-min a day or reciting a mantra before bed. Maybe it’s snapping a hair tie on your wrist every-time you feel the need to buy something on Amazon.
  3. Reader Seeding Accountability Parter: When teaching whatever you teach in your book, mention that the teachings are best done with an accountability partner. Offer to send a free virtual copy to their accountability partner. One of the tools at your disposal to increase word of mouth.
