growing on LinkedIn & chatGPT for book marketing

3 secrets, 2 links & 1 quote

3 Secrets

  1. For the second time in two weeks I interviewed authors who’ve driven hundreds, if not thousands of book sales from a LinkedIn following. Both said the same thing: Every post you do on LinkedIn should be teaching something. Both authors sit down to post and think to themselves, “what’s a recent conversation I’ve had with a client or follower and what did we talk about”.
  2. Pascal Bornet also attributes a lot of his success on LinkedIn to writing LinkedIn articles. When he was just starting out, he wrote a few LinkedIn articles which he finds gains more eyeballs than regular posts. I’ll be trying this out in November as well and will report back on how it goes.
  3. For this one I wanted to get you thinking about how you get chatGPT to be your book marketing intern. These are literally the questions I’ve asked chatGPT recently.

    • If I give you a link to a podcast can you transcribe it for me?I have a book about the vietnam war that I want to market – what are some types of instagram accounts that I could reach out to where the followers are readers of that type of book“Write a job description for someone to manage facebook ads for books and authors”What’s something smart to say on Linkedin today that will get tons of likes? What’s a good specific immediately implementable tactic for marketing your nonfiction bookI need you to pretend to be a certain type of book reader and I’m going to ask you questions to learn more about youWhat are some great team bonding activitiesWhat are a list of all the top business publicationsTake this blog and turn it into 10 smaller bits I can put out on social mediaWhat is the science on time blocking? What are some of the top podcasts in book marketing?Plan a 3 day trip to Idyllwild-Pine cove CA (Okay that last one definitely wasn’t on topic but I do love using chatGPT as a starting point when planning trips)
